Hello, my name is Denise Locarni. For the past 6 years I have been working at World Gym Setauket as a Certified Personal Trainer and SPIN Instructor. I am a triathlete, qualified nutrition consultant, NPC Nationally Qualified Bikini Competitor, all while being wife and mother of two active boys. Being physically active my whole life is evident through my passion for fitness. My experience enables me to motivate others and give them the tools they need to live a healthier lifestyle.

Specializing in athletic training for women, I develop plans targeting muscle toning and strengthening, core strengthening, fat loss, general conditioning, improving flexibility and nutrition. This is achieved through thoroughly assessing clients’ goals, listening to their needs and then developing a customized workout and meal plan to meet their specific needs.

You can count on me to challenge and motivate you in the gym or in one of my spin classes. My workouts are both challenging and varied to eliminate boredom. I incorporate numerous different training techniques like kettle bell training, free weights, machines, plyometrics, HIIT Cardio and yoga stretches into your workouts to get you to your goals more efficiently and effectively.

Having competed in many different types of athletic competitions, like 5 and 10K's, sprint triathlons, half marathons and cycling tours, I know what type of training it takes to be a competitor and train properly. In 2013 I decided to take my training to the next level and compete in a bodybuilding competition; I started training and dieting for the NPC Long Island Bodybuilding Championships. I placed 7th in the Open Bikini Class B. This is when bodybuilding became my new passion and I decided to take another year to train even harder and compete again in 2014 and my hard training and dedication paid off! I competed in the Long Island Show again which had twice as many competitors as it did in 2013 and I placed 6th in the Open Bikini Class D. One week later I competed in the NPC Garden State Bodybuilding Championships and I placed 1st in Masters Bikini Class B. As a National Qualifier show, this now positions me to train for a NPC National show in Pittsburgh July 2015. If successful I will earn my NCP Masters Bikini Pro-card.

My diverse background in competing on all levels has given me the knowledge and experience to not only train my clients for similar competitions but also empathize with them throughout their journey.
